Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the County of Montgomery Hazardous Materials Response Team. By receiving this packet, you have stated your intention to apply for membership to this organization. We appreciate your willingness to want to help the county in its chemical safety program.
Currently, the County of Montgomery Hazardous Materials Response Team is comprised of two station. They are: Station 81-A located at Lincoln Fire Company, and Station 81-B Located at Abington Fire Company and Willow Grove FireCompany. The primary response initiatives are handled by On-Call Duty Officers from both stations on a rotating basis. The team has oversight from the Department of Public Safety, who provides staff for administrative activities, first response and on-site coordination.
The Department of Public Safety is certified, through PEMA, as the hazardous materials response unit for the County. The county is currently responsible for the volunteer members of MCHMRT, working through the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Director of the Department of Public Safety. The county also maintains, calibrates all detection equipment and purchases all personal protective equipment for MCHMRT.
Included in this packet is the Application, request for Criminal History check, Standard Operating Guidelines, Confidentiality Agreement, Emergency Contact Information and Worker’s Compensation Programs Forms. Please read all information carefully and fill out all necessary information completely. Attach a copy of your personal resumé, copies of all certifications, valid driver’s license and supporting medical clearance documentation (once approved by the SOC).
